This beautiful Edwardian double brick home was given an update to the internal layout, in particular, bringing the bathroom from the rear of the house to adjacent to the bedrooms. A new open plan kitchen/dining/living was created and filled with light with new double glazed sash windows and double doors. The rear wall of the house was rebuilt due to structural requirements, re-using the existing bricks and surplus bricks were used for paving in the courtyard.
Hydronic heating was installed throughout the house and Rimu recycled floorboards were laid in the living room to match the existing boards in the hallway and kitchen. The bathroom is really the highlight with mosaic tiles laid to emulate water overflowing the cast iron bath and dripping towards the shower. I visited my client again three years after the build for her 60th birthday party and she is still thoroughly loving the renovation.
